May Family Ranch is located in the heart of Idaho (see map), surrounded by beautiful pine-covered mountains. We are in the Primitive Area that is at least three-hours driving distance from most towns of any size. The closest are Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, and Hailey, Idaho and Missoula, Montana.

In 1997 we began to remodel an old ranch house and five outbuildings for the purpose of accommodating our very large family (13 children -yes, 13!) for family reunions and holidays. Our first goal was to establhish a Bed and Breakfast for a business. As the project progressed, so did our vision of what could be done. The evolution of the Ranch has brought us much joy and satisfaction. We are very happy to be able to share our Ranch and this amazing part of the world with you.

• AIRPORTS:
  The closest commercial airports are in Boise and Idaho Falls, Idaho. There are small ports for private planes in Stanley and Challis. They are each 30 miles from the Ranch.
• CORRALS:
  We no longer have corrals, however we have a small pasture for your horses. A ditch flows through it. Bring your own hay.
• WEATHER:
  Fortunately we have temperate weather (for Idaho) year-round. From the end of May through June it is generally beautiful and warm in the day, with cool nights. It is often hot in the daytime during July and August, but warm in the evenings and cool at night. The fall months are beautiful and warm -with cold nights. Winter is generally cold with good snow for winter sports. Like anywhere else, the exception sometimes rules. Be prepared for anything!
