ABOUT THE RANCH
Hi friends, we are so glad you are here! We are Cole, Maddy, McKinley, Easton and Brooks Washburn. After getting married and graduating college from Brigham Young University, we moved our growing family back to Southern Idaho where we were closer to family. We spent a couple of great years there, but then suddenly felt ready for an adventure–although we didn’t quite know what it was. We are a young family who loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time together. We’ve had a dream for a long time to live up in the Sawtooths, assuming that it would be more along the retirement timeline. When an opportunity popped up in late 2020 to check out the ranch, we thought the whole thing was too good to be true. We met the Mays and fell in love with them and their mission here at the May Family Ranch–provide an incredible place for families to gather and enjoy each other in open space with unreal views. After so many little miracles, we were able to make our dream come true and purchased the ranch in Spring of 2021. It has been a big transition for us, trying to make sure that we continue to provide a great experience for guests while also slowly making improvements.
We are grateful for every group that comes through, both small and large. We love meeting
new people and sharing this place with those who love it as much as we do. Thank you for
joining us on this adventure and becoming a part of the May Family Ranch family!
MEET THE MAYS
"In 1997 we began to remodel an old ranch house and five outbuildings for the purpose of accommodating our very large family (13 children - yes, 13!) for family reunions and holidays. Our first goal was to establish a Bed and Breakfast for a business. As the project progressed, so did our vision of what could be done. The evolution of the Ranch has brought us much joy and satisfaction. We are very happy to be able to share our Ranch and this amazing part of the world with you." - Paul & Sharon May
ABOUT THE AREA
May Family Ranch is located in the heart of Idaho, surrounded by beautiful pine-covered mountains. We are in the Primitive Area that is approximately 3 hours driving distance from most towns of any size. The closest are Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Sun Valley and Missoula, Montana.

AIRPORTS:
The closest commercial airports are 3 hours in Boise and Idaho Falls, Idaho. There are small ports for private planes in Stanley and Challis. They are each 30 miles from the Ranch.

WEATHER:
Fortunately we have temperate weather (for Idaho) year-round. From the end of May through June it is generally beautiful and warm in the day, with cool nights. It is often hot in the daytime during July and August, but warm in the evenings and cool at night. The fall months are beautiful and warm -with cold nights. Winter is generally cold with good snow for winter sports. Like anywhere else, the exception sometimes rules. Be prepared for anything!
